• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Welding and fabricating
• Responsible for ensuring the continuous running of machinery and equipment, organizing routine maintenance procedures and carrying out repairs
• Develop and implement scheduled maintenance procedures
• Forward planning of maintenance resource requirements
• Ensure cleanliness of compressor, motors, VFDs, and work areas, electrical & control cabinets
• Make regular checks on machinery according to a planned schedule
• On call when needed by shifts for breakdowns or as needed per the Plant Manager
• Ensures cleanliness & calibration of sorting machines as well as proper operation
• Attending and repairing breakdowns on machines and equipment
• Checking and calibrating instruments
• Assist with machinery and equipment installations
• Implement mechanical and electrical improvements to plant and equipment
• Trouble shoot and diagnose equipment
• Design and construct special equipment, parts and tooling
• Maintain maintenance records for all equipment and processes
• Maintains company tools and required inventory; keeps company tools and personal tools separate
• Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations for the maintenance and plant are met at all times
• Coordinates maintenance activities with the operational crews and Plant Manager
• Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
• Grease bearings, check transmission oils
• Ensure appropriate spare parts are available
• Patch worn chutes, ducts, etc.
• Change/repair broken parts, belts, filter on loader, forklift & equipment
• Order or purchase needed parts, materials, sundries and PPE (confirm price first & get quotes approved)
• Rolling stock service scheduling
• Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as PM compliance, maintenance cost, schedule compliance, etc.
• Ensure cleanliness of air filter inside and outside of facility
• Implement training regimen for maintenance assistant and train to maintain facility as needed
• Help Facility manager decide when to perform a review for maintenance assistant
• Maintain a positive relationship with vendors and contractors
• Complete all tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or General Educational Development (GED) Minimum of 5 years of Maintenence experience Verbal and written communication Must possess a valid driver's license.
