Job Description

Riverwood Resort on the Gunnison is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the general upkeep and maintenance of our hotel, campground facilities, equipment, and grounds The property has a 16-room Inn and 29 RV sites, with a likely expansion coming in 2027 (subject to approvals). The City of Delta provides all utilities, making for simpler operations. The guest experience is our highest priority. Qualifications:
Friendly team player who genuinely likes people and is passionate about having guests enjoy a memorable experience. Positive interaction with guests is of the utmost importance. Experience with electrical and plumbing equipment and installation Experience with knowledge of landscaping and tree maintenance and related tools. Proper knowledge and use of all jobsite hand and power tools and equipment Detail oriented, ability to spot areas in need of maintenance without direction Valid Driver's License, and ability to travel by auto Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays and be on call for urgent resort issues Capable of working independently and as part of a team Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly Long periods of standing Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch and climb Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel Able to work inside and outdoors frequently and in various climates Capable of moving safely over uneven terrain Ability to operate backhoe in a safe and responsible manner is a plus
Responsibilities:
Approach all encounters with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner Regularly inspect, repair, and ensure the Resort buildings, facilities, and grounds are well maintained and fully operational, and that projects are completed properly, safely and timely Perform general carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing work and install new fixtures, equipment, and appliances as needed. General maintenance duties include painting buildings, building/repairing picnic tables, fixing toilets and wall coverings, mounting TV's and security equipment, preparing RV sites after guest departure, walking the entire length of the campgrounds assigned as part of the daily inspection Landscaping duties include, mowing, trimming, clearing brush and weeding. Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees in gardens and landscaped areas. Apply fertilizers and pesticides to ensure the health and vitality of plants. Safe use of lawn mowers, loppers, shears, powered edgers, hand saws and chainsaws is required. Troubleshooting problems with equipment to determine the cause of failure and determine the best solution for repair or replacement Prioritize tasks based upon importance and urgency with conscious planning and thoughtful decision making Take active role in the expansion and renovation of the Park Collaborate with work campers and contractors on Resort improvements Comfortable in high-pressure and fast paced situations while maintaining composure and objectivity Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice Use of safe work practices for a secure work environment for staff and campground guests Additional duties and projects as needs arise
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
