Underground Maintenance Technician Location:

Somerset, CO Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Underground Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, fabrication, and general maintenance, along with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. This position plays an important role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient underground mine operations. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on underground mining equipment, machinery, and facilities. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. Weld and fabricate parts and components as needed for repairs or modifications. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment problems before they become major issues. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent on repairs. Work closely with team members and other departments to improve operational efficiency and safety. Provide leadership and support when troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Follow all company, mine-site, and safety policies and procedures. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in underground mine maintenance, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge and experience using hand and power tools. Proficient in welding and fabrication. Knowledge of electrical systems, including the ability to use an ohmmeter and other testing equipment. Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment.
