A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Technician/Janitorial to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and optimal functioning of our facilities. This role combines hands-on maintenance with janitorial duties to create a welcoming, well-maintained environment for staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities:
Property Maintenance & Repairs Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, lighting fixtures, door locks, appliances, and other property components. Paint, complete unit turn preparations, and assist with apartment renovations and upgrades. Identify and promptly address safety concerns throughout the property. Grounds & Janitorial Responsibilities Maintain clean and attractive common areas, hallways, offices, community rooms, and laundry facilities. Sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize, and remove trash as needed. Assist with landscaping, grounds upkeep, parking lot maintenance, and garbage area maintenance. Inventory & Compliance Order maintenance supplies and manage inventory levels. Ensure fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency exits, and safety equipment remain in proper working condition. Follow all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, ADA, and Fair Housing requirements. Team Support Assist Property Managers and team members with special projects and operational needs. Participate in on-call rotations and provide emergency maintenance support when required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of apartment maintenance experience Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related certifications are a plus Basic computer skills and experience with property management software preferred Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and provide excellent customer service Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between properties Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical maintenance duties Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call emergenciese who enters our facilities—bringing energy and excellence into every task you undertake!
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
