Job Description

Lifespace Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a resident-first senior living community. In this on-site role, you'll perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, resident apartments, and common areas to ensure a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities include basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs; responding to work orders; assisting with room turns; and supporting safety and emergency procedures. Working within a collaborative, mission-driven team, you'll help enhance seniors' quality of life while growing your skills in healthcare and hospitality-focused facility operations. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and resident apartments Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues within scope of role Complete work orders promptly while documenting work performed and parts used Conduct safety checks, inspect life-safety systems, and report hazards or major repair needs Assist with room turns, resident moves, and general repairs to support community operations Collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and dining teams to minimize disruption to residents Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance shop in clean, safe, and organized condition Participate in on-call rotation, emergency response, and weather-related preparedness Follow all safety, infection-control, and regulatory guidelines in a healthcare setting Required Skills Building maintenance Basic electrical repair Plumbing repair HVAC troubleshooting Preventive maintenance scheduling Reading blueprints and equipment manuals Safety and OSHA compliance Work order systems (CMMS) Hand and power tool use Basic carpentry and drywall repair
