Job Description

Utility Worker - Mechanic's Shop West Florida Electric Cooperative | Graceville Office West Florida Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a Utility Worker in the mechanic's shop at our Graceville office. This position supports cooperative mechanics in maintaining our vehicle fleet to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Inspect and test vehicles and equipment for mechanical malfunctions Perform minor maintenance and repair work Keep the automotive shop, parts and tools inventory, and cooperative vehicles clean and organized Read and interpret documents and maintain cooperative records Assist with maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and warehouse/stores Interact professionally with employees and the public Comply with all safety rules and cooperative policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Florida Class A CDL required Basic computer and keyboarding skills required Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to follow instructions, lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and work in confined spaces Strong oral and written communication skills Prior mechanic's shop experience or familiarity with electric utility equipment/materials preferred Benefits Health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, and a competitive retirement package.
