Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician / Engineer to oversee the daily physical upkeep of our hotel. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. From preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to minor plumbing, electrical fixes, and painting, you will ensure our facility remains safe, beautiful, and fully operational for our guests. Key Requirements This is a strict, non-negotiable requirement: a minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience specifically in hotel maintenance or multi-family housing maintenance. Candidates without this direct experience will not be considered — we have had costly experiences in the past with underqualified hires and are not repeating that mistake.
Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance:
Execute the hotel's preventive maintenance program for guest rooms (PTAC units, lighting, plumbing, and furniture touch-ups).
General Repairs:
Perform advanced repairs in carpentry, drywall, painting, tiling, plumbing, and electrical work.
Grounds & Public Areas:
Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the lobby, pool area, fitness center, and exterior walkways.
Troubleshooting:
Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and resolve issues with a friendly, professional attitude.
Safety & Compliance:
Inspect property equipment daily, log maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and Wyndham brand standards.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5+ years of proven, verifiable success maintaining hotel properties or apartment complexes — no exceptions. Please be prepared to provide references that can confirm this experience.
Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of
HVAC/PTAC
systems, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repair.
Detail-Oriented:
A sharp eye for detail and a "fix-it-right-the-first-time" mentality to ensure the property looks pristine.
Customer Service:
Friendly, approachable demeanor when interacting with guests and team members.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand/walk for extended periods.
Availability:
Flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call availability for emergencies.
