Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of garage doors and related systems. Your expertise will ensure that each customer's garage door functions smoothly, safely, and reliably. Duties Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, fitting hardware, and ensuring proper alignment using hand tools and power tools. Conduct repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, including mechanical repairs, replacing broken parts, and troubleshooting electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, calibration, and safety inspections to keep systems operating efficiently. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and building codes to ensure installations meet all safety and compliance standards. Use welding, caulking, locksmithing, and fixture installation techniques to secure components and enhance door functionality. Assist with construction site tasks such as metal stud framing, carpentry work, remodeling projects, and cabinet installation as needed. Communicate clearly with customers about service procedures, repair timelines, and safety precautions to ensure a positive experience. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in door installation and repair. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction-related tools. Knowledge of building code compliance related to garage door systems and electrical work. Ability to lift heavy objects safely during installation or repair tasks. Construction site experience including blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings. Customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions. Experience with glass installation, fixture installation, locksmithing, metal stud framing or remodeling is a plus. Familiarity with electrical work related to garage door openers or safety sensors.
