Duties Perform detailed cleaning of various flooring surfaces using appropriate equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and polishers to maintain optimal appearance and safety. Handle floor cleaning chemicals safely, following all safety protocols for chemical agent handling to prevent accidents or damage. Conduct floor refinishing tasks including waxing, buffing, and applying protective coatings to extend the lifespan of flooring materials. Execute carpet cleaning procedures when necessary using specialized equipment to remove stains and embedded dirt effectively. Use manual handling techniques to lift heavy cleaning equipment or supplies safely while adhering to ergonomic standards. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and spot-cleaning floors regularly throughout the facility. Support environmental services initiatives by ensuring all floor areas are compliant with health and safety regulations. Skills Proven experience in medical facilities or custodial services with a focus on floor care techniques such as scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and refinishing. Strong knowledge of cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, buffers, polishers, and carpet cleaning machines. Ability to handle chemical agents responsibly with proper understanding of floor cleaning chemicals and safety procedures. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required during routine maintenance activities. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with staff and veterans when needed. Familiarity with environmental services standards ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly cleaning practices.
