Part-Time/Full Time Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Ice Maintenance & Facility Operations, the Arena Operations Ice Technician is responsible for performing the daily tasks required to operate, maintain, and service events and activities at Palm Ice Arena. This position ensures the facility is clean, safe, and fully operational while supporting best practices consistent with company policies and procedures. The Ice Technician plays a key role in the smooth day-to-day functioning of the ice rink and surrounding facility areas. Key Responsibilities / Job Functions Conduct daily walkthroughs of the entire Palm Ice Arena facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness Identify, report, and make recommendations to the Director of Ice Maintenance & Facility Operations, regarding facility issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs Perform routine tasks necessary to support safe daily ice rink operations and related equipment Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the facility, including lobbies, common areas, seating areas, bathrooms, locker rooms, bleachers, and showers Develop and maintain working knowledge of facility systems and equipment, including HVAC systems, natural gas water heaters, ice plant operations, Zamboni ice resurfacing equipment, and basic carpentry and maintenance tasks as needed Operate and oversee machinery and equipment as directed by the Director of Ice Maintenance & Facility Operations Perform daily ice and board maintenance to ensure compliance with NHL-quality standards Assist with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of events and rink programming Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Experience operating ice resurfacing equipment, including operation, maintenance, and training preferred Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance procedures, tools, equipment, and basic construction practices Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and consistency Strong self-motivation, time management, and organizational skills Ability to work under changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and standards Position Type / Expected Hours of Work The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed based on facility operations and event schedules. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and work in cold environments for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to operate heavy machinery safely Ability to perform physical labor and maintenance tasks Compensation Hourly rate - $25/Hour
