Job Description

TITLE:
Floor Technician
REPORTS TO
Administrator Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary purpose of the job position is to clean and maintain all floor areas and windows of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility and as may be directed by the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to assure that the facility is clean, safe, and sanitary. ROLE and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain common areas as directed by Facility Housekeeping Supervisor. Maintain safety prior to and during all wet floor care procedures. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all carpets to ensure they are free of spots and/or stains. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of hard floor surfaces. Use proper chemicals according to the type of cleaning being done (e.g., strip and wax, scrub and wax). Check and maintain clean windows in all support areas of the facility. Remove trash from support areas including additional buildings on the main campus. Empty biohazard waste receptacles daily; always wear protective gloves when handling biohazard waste. Preform lite maintenance duties as directed by Facility Housekeeping Supervisor. Other duties as directed by supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in floor care, custodial work, or facility maintenance is preferred. Ability to operate floor care equipment is required (buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors). Ability to safely dilute and mix cleaning solutions using correct ratios to ensure effectiveness and prevent damage to flooring surfaces is required. If no experience, you must be willing to be trained in the cleaning procedures necessary to maintain the facility in a manner beyond a "standard" level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety at all times.
