Position Summary:
Manage and assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities, involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery including HVAC, building lighting systems and overall facility appearance. Coordinate the work of employees who assist with the repair and maintenance of building/facility, equipment and machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledge of the use of the tools, measuring instruments and methods used in various skilled trades.
- Perform repairs to equipment.
- Perform carpentry work, mainly repairs.
- Change filters, as required.
- Painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical.
- Performs weekly and monthly equipment checks.
- Participates in departmental meetings and in-services.
- Regularly checks the fire alarm system and assists with monthly fire drills.
- All other reasonable duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent. Carpentry, construction or completion of an accredited maintenance program a plus. Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities. Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks. Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills. Ability to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors. Knowledgeable in all phases of construction and building maintenance. Computer literate. Valid driver's license.
