Transmissions Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance on material handling equipment, with a strong focus on forklifts. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various material handling systems, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in different locations. All technicians are allowed to drive their service vehicle home.
Responsibilities:
Perform Scheduled Maintenance:
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment, with a strong emphasis on forklifts Inspect and service engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
Troubleshoot and Diagnose:
Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues affecting the performance of various material handling equipment. Implement corrective actions to address identified problems.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacement. Provide detailed reports on the condition of each piece of equipment and recommended actions for improvements.
Parts Management:
Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies within the service vehicle.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and guidelines. Conduct regular safety inspections on equipment to identify and address potential hazards.
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
At least 1 year experience in most of the above responsibilities. Familiarity with various material handling equipment models and their components.
Technical Skills:
Understanding of I/C and electric material handling equipment. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing simple mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to interact professionally with customers and other team members.
Problem-Solving:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in diverse environments.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfort working in various weather conditions.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to travel to different locations as needed. With any of our preventative maintenance technicians we offer on the job training and opportunity for advancement. Uniforms and a service truck will be provided.
