This position is responsible for completing general maintenance and repairs throughout the hostel, responding to maintenance requests, performing routine inspections, and helping identify and resolve property issues before they become larger problems.

Responsibilities include:

Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms, common areas, and staff areas Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, fixtures, doors, locks, furniture, and other property equipment Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues Inspect rooms and common areas for maintenance concerns Complete basic painting, patching, caulking, and other property upkeep Assist with AC troubleshooting and maintenance Help maintain lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances, and building equipment Coordinate with management when outside vendors or specialized repairs are needed Keep maintenance tools, supplies, and work areas organized Document completed work and communicate outstanding issues to management Assist with preventative maintenance and property improvement projects Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe environment for guests and employees

Qualifications:

Previous maintenance, handyman, hotel, apartment, or building maintenance experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC/AC, carpentry, and general repairs Comfortable using common hand and power tools Able to troubleshoot problems and work independently Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests Good communication and teamwork skills Able to perform physical work, including standing, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting maintenance equipment and supplies Must be available to work on-site in Waikiki What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who takes initiative, notices problems before they become bigger issues, and takes pride in keeping the property in good condition.
