General Handyman

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks across various facilities and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that building interiors, mechanical systems, electrical components, plumbing, and other facilities are maintained at optimal levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge, technical skills, and leadership qualities to support a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building infrastructure. Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to address issues promptly. Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical systems. Assist with building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry repairs, and general cleaning. Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory of spare parts. Supervise or assist with maintenance projects that require leadership or coordination with contractors or team members. Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities. Qualifications Proven experience in general maintenance, repair and operations (MRO), with a strong understanding of schematics and technical diagrams. Proficiency in electrical work including electrical equipment repair and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system troubleshooting and repair. Mechanical knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), building interior systems, and facilities equipment. Ability to operate hand tools effectively; experience with welding is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English. Supervising or leadership experience is preferred for coordinating team efforts. Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance management is advantageous. Knowledge of residential painting techniques and carpentry skills for interior projects. Pay:
$34.13 - $39.47 per hour
