Job Description
Maintenance Technician - Part-Time | $16-$18/hour Are you the person everyone calls when something needs to be fixed? If you enjoy working with your hands, figuring out how things work, and having something different to tackle every day, we'd love to meet you. The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is looking for a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. From guest rooms and public spaces to the equipment and building systems behind the scenes, you'll help keep our hotel safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone with general maintenance or repair experience who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being part of a team. Schedule & Pay $16-$18/hour , commensurate with experience Part-time, averaging 30 hours or less per week Primary schedule will be Thursday-Sunday Hours will flex between 1st and 2nd shifts Some weekend and holiday availability required Non-exempt and overtime eligible What You'll Do No two days in hotel Engineering are exactly the same. You'll help maintain the property and respond to repair needs throughout the hotel, including: Performing routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior areas Troubleshooting and completing minor repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, lighting, televisions, phones, locks, and other building systems Repairing furniture, fixtures, doors, windows, cabinets, walls, and property finishes Completing painting, patching, carpentry, and general cosmetic repairs Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment, building systems, and guest rooms Responding promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and guest concerns Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards Using hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance equipment safely Keeping Engineering work areas clean, organized, and safe Completing work orders and required maintenance documentation Working closely with the Engineering team and other hotel departments to keep the property operating at its best What We're Looking For You don't need to know how to fix absolutely everything on day one. We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and takes pride in doing things the right way. Previous experience in any of the following is helpful: Hotel or facilities maintenance Apartment or property maintenance Construction or general repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or carpentry work Industrial or other hands-on technical environments You should also be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting problems, safely using hand and power tools, and interacting professionally with guests and coworkers. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Technical certifications or specialized trade experience are a plus, but not required . Why Join Our Team?
