Company Overview Mediapolis Care Facility, Inc. is a licensed adult residential care facility dedicated to providing compassionate room, board, care, and supervision for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Located in a small, progressive community with accessible medical and community resources, we have been serving our residents since 1989 with a focus on enhancing lives through empowering individuals. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and upkeep of our facility's mechanical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience in appliance repair, HVAC system maintenance, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the well-being of our residents by ensuring all systems operate smoothly and reliably. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, and mechanical systems throughout the facility. Troubleshoot and repair appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and other essential equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Operate company vehicles responsibly for maintenance tasks or equipment transportation as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to ensure compliance with safety standards. Assist with installation of new appliances or mechanical systems following manufacturer specifications and safety protocols. Conduct construction or renovation projects related to mechanical or electrical systems when required. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime or safety hazards. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules that do not disrupt daily operations. Experience Candidates should have prior experience in service technician roles involving appliance repair, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), and mechanical systems repair. Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices is essential. Construction experience or background in building systems maintenance will be considered an asset. Strong customer service skills are important for interacting professionally with staff and residents. Leadership qualities that support team collaboration and problem-solving are valued in this role.
