Job Description
Feed Mill Maintenance Technician (Salary to be Determined) Job Summary The feed mill Maintenance Technician must be a self-motivated problem solver who is willing to help the team with system improvements. They must be able to perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary. The Maintenance Technician must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions and installed replacement parts. The technician must be available for some scheduled weekend projects. Also, if a problem arises that may cause a plant shutdown the technician might be required to come in and trouble shoot and assist with repairs. The Maintenance Technician must work in compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws, and regulations. Essential Duties
- Prompt equipment repairs to mill equipment, electrical, mechanical, or automated
- Detect any potential electrical or mechanical problems
- Check that equipment is functioning properly
- Prepare maintenance work order forms documenting actions taken to correct equipment problems
- Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
- Lubrication and belt adjustments to equipment
- Maintain preventive maintenance according to a posted schedule
- Complete appropriate paperwork and reports using the Simon Facility Management System Additional Duties
- Operate a forklift, welder, cutting torch, skid loader, and scissor lift
- Be able to perform electrical testing and minor fabrication
- Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications
- Minimum experience of one year in the field or trade school equivalent (will train)
- PLC experience a plus
- Strong electrical background a plus
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
- Ability to work at heights of 200 feet and in confined spaces
