Maintenance Staff
Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Staff member to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our building's infrastructure, equipment, and interior spaces. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills across a variety of maintenance tasks while contributing to the smooth functioning of our facilities. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and mechanical equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Repair and troubleshoot electrical equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and building interior components using schematics, hand tools, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and other handyman tasks to maintain facility aesthetics and safety standards. Maintain facilities equipment including motors, pumps, compressors, and electrical panels; repair or replace faulty components as needed. Follow schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately; document maintenance activities thoroughly. Support maintenance painting projects and interior building repairs to uphold a professional appearance. Assist with the operation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) when applicable for automated systems; ensure all work complies with safety regulations and standards. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields with knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC repair, and building interior upkeep. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, welding techniques, carpentry skills, and plumbing system maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams related to HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing layouts, and schematics. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of maintenance procedures involving MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) supplies is preferred. Experience working with HVAC systems including repairs or system upgrades is highly desirable.
