We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to join a multifamily residential community in the Des Moines, Iowa area. This position is responsible for completing service requests, supporting preventative maintenance, preparing apartment homes for move-in, and helping maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the community. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative onsite team. Key Responsibilities Complete resident service requests promptly with a focus on quality and customer service. Diagnose and perform basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and other building systems. Assist with apartment make-readies and ensure homes are prepared for scheduled move-ins. Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections. Monitor community grounds, common areas, amenities, lighting, and equipment for maintenance needs. Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and onsite team members. Support required property, safety, fire, and equipment inspections. Safely operate and maintain tools and maintenance equipment. Assist with pool maintenance, snow removal, grounds-related needs, and other seasonal responsibilities. Participate in the after-hours emergency maintenance/on-call rotation. Follow OSHA requirements and established workplace safety procedures. Assist with additional property projects and maintenance needs as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year of multifamily maintenance experience required. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance. CPO certification preferred. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize service needs and follow through on assigned work. Must provide own basic tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position that may require: Lifting and carrying approximately 50-75 lbs. Walking throughout a multifamily community and climbing multiple flights of stairs. Standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and performing physical maintenance work for extended periods. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Safely operating maintenance tools and equipment. Initial Training and Orientation Company covered three-day onboarding in Indianapolis. Ongoing Training We support membership to professional organizations and continuing education.

Pay:

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
