Job Description
Job Summary Boardwalk Apartments , managed by Mesa West, is seeking a dependable, skilled, and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our property team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working with their hands, and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable community for our residents. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes initiative, and can confidently handle day-to-day maintenance needs while working both independently and as part of a team. As a Maintenance Technician at Boardwalk Apartments, you will play an important role in maintaining the property, completing apartment turns, responding to resident maintenance requests, and helping ensure the community remains well-maintained and welcoming. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout Boardwalk Apartments, including apartments, common areas, and community facilities. Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and curb appeal of the community, including grounds, parking areas, landscaping, and common areas. Complete apartment turns by cleaning, painting, repairing, and preparing vacant apartments for new residents. Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs when possible. Assist with preventative maintenance and property improvement projects. Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns. Communicate property issues and needed repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Business Manager. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop, storage areas, and work areas. Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures. Properly use required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Respond promptly when assigned to be on-call. Assist with maintenance needs at other properties when needed. Qualifications Required Minimum of 1 year of relevant maintenance experience . Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic. Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions. Ability to follow instructions and complete work safely and efficiently. Strong communication skills. Basic computer skills. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Ability to participate in an on-call schedule. Preferred Previous apartment or multifamily maintenance experience. Experience with painting, plumbing, electrical, drywall, appliances, or general property repairs. Familiarity with hand and power tools. Technical education, trade school, or equivalent hands-on experience. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of positions throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds . Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery. Ability to work around typical maintenance-related noise, including power washers, drills, leaf blowers, and other equipment.
