Facility Technician Axium Packaging - 3.2 Bartlett, IL Job Details Full-time $24 - $32 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Facilities Technician General Summary The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of Axium Packaging facilities. This role helps ensure that buildings, grounds, and facility systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The Facilities Technician will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, complete preventative maintenance activities, and respond to facility-related issues while working with limited supervision and managing changing priorities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance to ensure buildings and facility systems remain in good operating condition and do not deteriorate over time. Conduct preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and other building infrastructure. Inspect, operate, and test facility systems to identify malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Troubleshoot and perform general repairs on facility-related items, including walls, floors, doors, windows, and other building components. Complete painting, patching, and minor carpentry projects as needed. Install, repair, and maintain furniture, fixtures, and facility equipment. Repair or replace defective equipment components using hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment. Record maintenance activities, work orders, and completed repairs using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS). Safely use ladders and access rooftops when required to inspect or maintain facility equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Travel between Axium Packaging facilities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1-2 years of general maintenance experience required. 1-2 years of experience in a skilled trade, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to safely operate tools and equipment while following written instructions and safety procedures. Willingness to learn and develop skills related to facility maintenance and repair. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency using a smartphone, tablet, and basic computer applications. Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel between company facilities. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely climb ladders and access rooftops when necessary.
Pay:
$24.00 - $32.00 per hour
