Maintenance Technician Effingham, IL M

• 3pm with occasional overtime $25
• $28/hour Responsibilities or job duties: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility-related issues. Safely complete minor carpentry, painting, and general building repairs. Assist in the design and fabrication of tools or modifications to production equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Help manage repair equipment and supply inventory. Follow all company safety protocols and wear PPE as required by OSHA standards. Participate in end-of-shift cleanup and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and maintain a positive work environment. Assist with special projects and cross-functional support as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a vocational/technical school program or relevant certifications preferred. Certified Maintenance Technician designation preferred but not required. Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC knowledge. Proficient with hand tools, forklifts, welders, grinders, and measuring devices. Forklift certification per OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.178(1)(3) required or ability to obtain. Must adhere to SOI4255 guidelines regarding daily forklift inspection. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Must be dependable and able to respond to overtime or after-hours needs with short notice. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work safely in mechanical, electrical, and related maintenance environments; electrical safety training is provided and required.

Physical Requirements:

The work schedule is 40 hours per week but may often require more hours depending on workload. Moderate to heavy physical effort or strenuous activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying loads up to 40 pounds. Normal factory environments involve seasonally fluctuating temperatures, dirt, dust, and noise.
