2+ years industrial maintenance required About the Role Smyth's Chicago facility is looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to keep our label and packaging production running at peak performance. You will troubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial equipment — mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic — in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Repair and maintain electro-mechanical equipment, motion controls, motors, pneumatic systems, and pumps Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using precision measuring and testing instruments Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to diagnose issues Maintain inventory records and replenish machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies Follow and promote all safety policies; identify and report unsafe conditions Requirements High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of industrial machinery maintenance experience Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Available for off-schedule calls and overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications PLC and HMI literacy Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, BRC/ISO quality systems Familiarity with CMMS software (MVP One a plus) Strong time management and communication skills About Smyth Companies Smyth is a leading label and packaging converter with facilities across the U.S. We offer competitive compensation based on your skills and experience, a collaborative team environment, and real opportunities to grow your career in manufacturing.
