1099 Full Time Facility Maintenance Technician multi-unit StorSafe Self Storage - 4.0 Northfield, IL Job Details Full-time From $900 a week 19 hours ago Qualifications Landscape maintenance Outdoor work experience Maintenance Company vehicle operation High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Achieving project delivery timelines Time management Full Job Description Purpose of Position The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing general maintenance, grounds keeping, cleaning of storage units for our properties, and the overall upkeep of multiple facilities in Northern Chicagoland area and Racine, WI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance, including; overlocks, landscaping, cleaning, and repairs Ensure that vacated units are move in ready Utilize company software while maintaining the unit integrity of each facility. Ensure that all services requests and repairs are taken care of in a timely manner. Oversee the work of outside vendors Provide superior customer service when making service calls or interacting with customers Conduct routine repairs and property inspections Perform minor and large repairs Perform lock checks in preparation for unit auctions Complete preventative maintenance Keep outdoor areas clear of trash and debris Assist with projects as required Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED Two (2) years of general maintenance or janitorial experience preferred General understanding of mechanical systems Storage experience preferred but not required Access to reliable transportation Valid driver's license
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task Excellent time management and organizational skills Accuracy and attention to detail Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines Physical Exertion Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required for general maintenance of building facilities Ability to carry and climb a ladder when applicable Ability to walk various distances and walk/stand for extended periods of time Ability to travel between buildings for maintenance requests by car or foot Ability to reach, push, pull, kneel, bend, crawl, and climb to perform repairs in tight and confined spaces Ability to safely operate a company vehicle Regularly use the mobility of hands Have the endurance and to be upright the entire shift as this is a non-sedentary position
