Job Summary Do you enjoy troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and working with your hands? Are you the person who likes figuring out why something isn't working and how to fix it? We're looking for an Arcade Repair & Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This is a unique, hands-on position working with vintage arcade machines, carnival games, and interactive entertainment equipment used at private parties, corporate events, fundraisers, and special events throughout Chicago and across the Midwest. While the primary focus of this position is repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting , you will also assist with deliveries, installations, warehouse operations, and event setup. You may also be called upon to provide remote technical support to field technicians while they are onsite at events . This is a fast-paced position where priorities can change quickly. The right candidate is someone who can diagnose problems, stay calm under pressure, work independently when needed, and provide excellent customer service. The core schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts , with occasional evenings, weekends, and out-of-state travel required for events. Key Responsibilities Arcade Repair & Maintenance Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vintage arcade machines, carnival games, and related equipment. Identify mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to keep equipment event-ready. Replace and repair components, wiring, switches, controls, monitors, power supplies, and other equipment as needed. Test games thoroughly after repairs to ensure they are functioning properly before being sent to an event. Maintain accurate service and repair records, including parts used and work performed. Keep repair areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe. Field Technician Support Provide remote technical support by phone to field technicians who encounter equipment problems at events. Troubleshoot issues remotely and provide clear, step-by-step instructions to technicians. Help determine whether an issue can be resolved onsite or requires additional assistance. Remain calm and solution-oriented when troubleshooting problems under event-time pressure. Delivery & Event Support Safely load, secure, transport, unload, install, and uninstall arcade and carnival games. Operate pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment used to move heavy games. Properly strap and secure equipment in company vehicles and trucks for transportation. Follow established procedures for handling and protecting equipment during loading, transportation, and installation. Assist with event setups and teardowns according to client schedules. Interact professionally with clients and venue staff while onsite. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Warehouse Responsibilities Assist with warehouse organization, packing, labeling, and equipment maintenance. Inspect games and equipment before and after events. Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and repair supplies. Help keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe. Assist with preparing equipment for upcoming events. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a Service Technician, Arcade Technician, Field Technician, Maintenance Technician, Industrial Technician, or similar role preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot problems systematically. Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, electrical components, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation. Basic computer hardware, software, and networking knowledge is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot equipment both independently and with assistance from remote support. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly . Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, field technicians, clients, and venue staff. Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, including items weighing 50+ pounds . Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Commercial driving, delivery, route driving, or CDL experience is a plus, but not required. Previous experience with arcade, carnival, casino, amusement, or entertainment equipment is a major plus .
