Full-Time Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated School Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall maintenance of our school facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Maintenance, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing maintenance &
General Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC issues to ensure optimal performance and comfort. Conduct repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, and circuit breakers. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes. Execute carpentry tasks, such as repairing furniture, doors, and fixtures. Assist in the construction and installation of new structures or renovations. Perform plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining fixtures. Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues. Conduct regular inspections of school facilities to identify and address maintenance needs. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and request orders as needed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Safety & Facilities Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisor and other staff to coordinate maintenance projects and repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from school staff and administration. Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field is a plus. Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with a strong focus on HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in maintenance work. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 pounds]. Capable of working in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, and in varying weather conditions. Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed for maintenance emergencies.
