Flexible availability required, including some evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls Job Summary SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn by Marriott in Carmel, Indiana, are seeking a dependable and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to support the daily maintenance needs of both properties. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for keeping guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems safe, functional, and well maintained. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of completing preventive maintenance and general repairs while providing professional service to guests and associates. Responsibilities Complete general maintenance and repairs throughout both hotels Respond promptly to guest-room maintenance requests Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and HVAC work Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior spaces Complete scheduled preventive-maintenance tasks and maintain accurate records Troubleshoot equipment and building-system problems Repair or replace fixtures, locks, appliances, furniture, and other hotel equipment Perform routine maintenance on heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems Assist with pool inspections and maintenance where applicable Monitor utility usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency Maintain the appearance and condition of hotel grounds and exterior areas Coordinate with approved contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts Follow all safety, fire-prevention, security, and emergency-response procedures Properly use and store tools, chemicals, and maintenance equipment Communicate maintenance concerns and project updates to hotel leadership Assist with property inspections and Marriott quality-assurance preparation Provide emergency maintenance coverage when scheduled Perform additional duties as assigned by hotel management Qualifications Previous hotel, apartment, commercial-building, or general maintenance experience is preferred Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs safely and efficiently Strong attention to detail and time-management skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Professional attitude when interacting with guests and associates Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and preventive-maintenance records Valid driver's license may be required Relevant maintenance certifications are preferred but not required Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and emergency calls Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined areas Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Benefits Benefits may include: Competitive pay Marriott Explore employee hotel discounts Paid training Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Career-development and advancement opportunities Supportive team environment Additional benefits based on eligibility and employment status Apply Today If you are a dependable problem-solver who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and presentable, we encourage you to apply.
