Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description Join a highvolume manufacturing operation as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, where you will keep production equipment and conveyor systems running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will perform both preventive and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot complex industrial systems, and collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment and conveyor systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across the facility. Diagnose issues related to PLCcontrolled equipment, with a focus on Mitsubishi platforms. Support robotic troubleshooting and repair, primarily working with Fanuc robots. Assist with equipment changeovers, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and throughput. Conduct electrical troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions. Perform PLC troubleshooting, including reviewing basic logic to resolve equipment faults and process issues. Carry out fabrication tasks for occasional projects or repairs, such as modifying or building components to support maintenance needs. Support conveyorbased production lines, ensuring smooth operation and rapid response to breakdowns or stoppages. Communicate clearly and professionally with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members to coordinate work and minimize downtime. Document maintenance activities and share information about recurring issues to help drive longterm solutions. Essential Skills Handson experience performing preventive and reactive maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working safely with industrial power and control systems. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including bearings, drives, and mechanical assemblies. Experience working with hydraulic systems, including diagnosing leaks, pressure issues, and component failures. Experience working with pneumatic systems, including valves, actuators, and air supply components. Ability to troubleshoot PLCcontrolled equipment, including Mitsubishi platforms, using basic logic understanding. Experience supporting conveyorbased production lines, including responding quickly to breakdowns and performance issues. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Strong communication skills to coordinate with production and engineering teams and clearly explain issues and solutions. Commitment to working safely and following established procedures and guidelines in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of PLC systems with the ability to understand and work with basic logic for troubleshooting. Experience with Fanuc robots and robotic troubleshooting in a production setting. Fabrication experience for occasional projects or repairs, such as welding, cutting, or modifying parts and structures. Experience in Maintenance Technology or Engineering is welcome. Equivalent handson industrial maintenance experience will also be considered in place of a formal degree. Experience in industrial maintenance technician roles involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems. Why Work Here? The environment is fastpaced and productionoriented, with frequent interaction with industrial equipment such as PLCcontrolled machinery, Mitsubishi PLCs, and Fanuc robots. Work is performed on the shop floor around moving conveyors and automated systems, requiring adherence to safety procedures and appropriate industrial attire suitable for a manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
