Facility / Grounds Maintenance/Public Works City of Lecompton, Kansas Lecompton, KS Job Details Full-time $20 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications Driving Full Job Description Job Summary The City of Lecompton is seeking a qualified and skilled employee for a multi-roll position. The Public Works Maintenance portion of the job will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the maintenance of all City-owned facilities, grounds, parks, streets, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems. This position involves manual labor, operating a variety of maintenance equipment and vehicles, and responding to after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate is a "jack-of-all-trades" who can work independently or as part of a team under varying weather conditions. Facility and Grounds Maintenance responsibilities would include but not limited to assisting with general building maintenance, infrastructure repairs, which may include plumbing, basic electrical, water line repairs, reading meters, mowing, weed eating, ball park maintenance and weed control. Prefer an individual with plumbing experience and mechanical aptitude. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in water service line repairs and have the ability to recognize and prioritize work that needs completed and can complete work without supervision. This role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to communicate with the city office, and operate various tools and equipment effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities _ Facilities and Grounds Maintenance _ Perform routine lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, and weed control to maintain grass and landscapes at City Parks and City Owned Property Perform general maintenance and cleaning of City buildings, parks, and facilities, including minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs. Operate hand tools and power equipment/tools for various maintenance activities such as trimming Trees & shrubs. Conduct snow plowing and snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to properties. Using Shovels, snow plow, skid loader to remove snow off city sidewalks and provide access to city owned buildings.
