Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment. Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot issues efficiently. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage to ensure proper operation. Service HVAC systems by diagnosing problems, replacing components, and performing system calibrations to ensure optimal climate control. Execute carpentry tasks such as installing or repairing doors, cabinets, drywall, and interior finishes to uphold building aesthetics. Utilize electrical experience to repair or replace electrical equipment, wiring, switches, outlets, and circuit breakers safely. Lead or assist with facilities equipment maintenance projects while supervising junior team members when necessary. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using appropriate documentation methods; interpret schematics for complex systems. Support customer service efforts by communicating clearly with residents regarding maintenance requests and updates. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Qualifications Proven experience in residential maintenance or facilities maintenance roles with a strong background in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, carpentry, and mechanical knowledge. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading (including building interior maintenance plans), and Ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated building systems. Strong knowledge of maintenance painting techniques and general building interior upkeep. Experience with Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) procedures to ensure ongoing facility functionality. Supervising experience or leadership skills are preferred for mentoring team members or overseeing projects. Excellent communication skills in English for effective collaboration with residents and team members. Ability to interpret technical schematics and diagrams related to electrical systems and building infrastructure. Valid certifications in electrical work or HVAC repair are advantageous but not mandatory; relevant training is provided as needed.
