Position Purpose:
The Bottling Line Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all equipment in the Bottling Department. This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. The technician will work closely with the production team to minimize downtime, improve the reliability of bottling processes, and maintain equipment to meet production goals and safety standards. Core Responsibilities After training with an experienced Maintenance employee, troubleshoot and repair bottling equipment (rinsers, fillers, conveyors, labelers, etc.). Perform preventive maintenance on all bottling equipment. Assist with line change-overs. Once trained, assist with training Operators on various pieces of bottling equipment. Provide continuous guidance and mentoring for equipment Operators. Understand and follow good management practices (GMP's). Demonstrate and maintain professional and respectful behaviors Communicate with the Bottling Manager and the Maintenance Manager on equipment problems. Offer suggestions for improvement. Attend meetings as needed Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements High school degree or equivalent education and experience required. Experience working with industrial equipment. Knowledge of electrical motors and general electricity is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Willingness to train on the job. Able to operate pallet jacks and / or forklifts. Self-motivated with strong initiative. Strong organizational skills. Adaptable and able to deal with change quickly. Knowledge of VFDs Knowledge of PLC programing Knowledge of motor starters and drives. Computer skills working with spreadsheets. Welding skills Must be flexible with overtime. Required lifting of 40lbs Industrial maintenance degree is a plus Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Fast paced, warehouse and industrial environment. Exposure to hazardous materials such as alcohol and chemicals, loud noise, and moderate heat/cold. Essential physical requirements, such as frequent climbing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching , crawling, reaching and lifting, occasionally above shoulders. Some overtime required. Able to stand and walk all day with minimal breaks. Able to lift, carry and pull at least 50 lbs. There will be occasions when, with additional help, the employee will need to be able to move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs. Able to work around alcohol and other flammable liquids.
