Overview Perform basic to routine skill level work under moderate supervision/oversight, in order to clean, check, inspect, repair, maintain, and install various station equipment and systems. Responsibilities General Duties Include but not limited to: Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices Actively participate and successfully complete assigned training activities and requirements. In normal performance of duties, employee will watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury. Employee will perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within their capabilities, including those needed for purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classification. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment. Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standards of conduct, appearance and attitude. Specific Duties Include but not limited to the following, in addition to those of lower classification(s): Perform basic or routine maintenance activities to check, inspect repair, maintain, and install station equipment and systems. Assist employees of higher classifications, and supply them with necessary tools, equipment and materials; upon completion of jobs, assist in gathering up and returning tools, equipment, and surplus materials in a clean and serviceable condition. Clean equipment undergoing repairs, handle and move material supplies and equipment in connection with the work and work area. Maintain area in clean and safe condition. Perform basic/routine dismantling and assembly work, bolt and unbolt, wire brush, recondition, and clean parts. Operate as directed, and in a safe and proficient manner: hand tools, power tools, hoists, drill presses, grinders, and other tools and equipment pertaining to the work. Learn to safely and proficiently operate oxy-acetylene cutting and simple arc-welding. Prepare work surfaces and areas, remove and install insulation, guards and housings on equipment. Set up portable extension lights and blowers as directed. Obtain refractory brick and tile, and prepare mortar mix for furnace repairs; assist in masonry work as directed. Remove coverings and insulation as directed. Assist in basic electrical and instrument repair. Clean oil coolers, oil filters, condensers, and other station equipment. Learn to safely and proficiently operate equipment such as cranes, backhoes, tractors, and industrial trucks/vehicles. Assist in lubricating station equipment. Operate vehicles for transporting men, tools, materials, and equipment as assigned. Assist in erection and removal of scaffolding and rigging. Assist as directed, employees of any classification in carrying through work assignments. Qualifications General Qualifications Include but not limited to: Must meet all general qualifications of employment. Must be able and willing to comply with all safety rules. Must be able to safely perform physical requirements of the job. Must possess the willingness and ability to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to advance to higher classifications. Must have successfully completed all required testing and training programs as promulgated by the company. 1-3 years job related experience recommended. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance or related technical field preferred. Must have demonstrated proficiency in the ability to perform duties associated with the lower classification(s) within the line of progression.Qualifications:
