United Stes Citizens Duties Help Duties & Responsibilities :
(WG08): (1) Performs limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, comb, tactical and automotive vehicles. Assists higher graded mechanics in the repair and/or overhaul of major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automic and non-automic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls. (2) Performs limited diagnoses to determine the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses basic test equipment such as compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and pressure gauges. (3) Removes, replaces, adjusts, cleans and installs parts and components such as wheel seals, switches, sensors, fuel pumps, wer pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters, radiors, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors, mufflers, btery cables, and other items of similar complexity. (4) Independently performs routine repairs and maintenance functions in remote locions th can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems using standard parts. (5) Conducts limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associed equipment supported by the activity. Performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc. (6) May perform routine maintenance and limited repairs on basic communicion equipment such as radios, field telephones, amplifiers, switchboards, recorders, intercoms by removing and replacing components and elements. Performs minor body and fender, or other metal repairs, using peening hammers, dollies and limited welding. (7) In conjunction with or in the absence of the Tools and Parts Attendant, may maintain supply documention, and the receipt, store, issue, and inventory of tools and parts used in the trades operion. (8) Performs other as duties as assigned. (WG10): (1) Troubleshoots, performs maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, comb, tactical and automotive vehicles. This may include self-propelled artillery, tracked cargo and personnel carriers, road graders, mobile cranes, front loaders, conveyors, bulldozers, power shovels, compressors, generors, tanks, tracked comb vehicles, sedans, buses, all terrain vehicles, trucks, semitrailers, forklifts, tractors, and accessory equipment. (2) Troubleshoots equipment and diagnoses the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools. Utilizes embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nure or extent of repair. (3) Removes and disassembles engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Makes the approprie repairs, overhaul, or modificions in accordance with the proper repair specificions and procedures. Reassembles engines and other systems, and adjusts, tests, and reinstalls in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Makesadjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems. (4) Independently performs repairs and maintenance functions in remote locions th can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems such as injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders and worn brake shoes, voltage regulors, generors, injector pumps, and fuel pumps. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower grade employees within the team. Assists lower grade mechanics in performing major repair work. (5) Conducts readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associed equipment supported by the activity. Performs operional inspections and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc., and performs other preventive maintenance operions as required. (6) May maintain and repair electronics communicion equipment by removing and replacing components and elements. Equipment includes such items as radios, field telephones, amplifiers, switchboards, recorders, intercoms. (7) Assists in the maintenance of production reports and records, and makes recommendions to the supervisor. Plans, organizes, and performs technical analyses as required or assigned. Makes recommendions to the supervisor as to adjustments necessary to effectively, efficiently and economically accomplish the work and maximize production. (8) Performs other duties as assigned. GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Must possess experience or training which demonstres knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventive maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: (WG-08) : Must possess least Twelve (12) months experience or training using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs; experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories; experience which demonstres a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments; experience demonstring an understanding of the makeup and operion of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelionships; experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schemics. (WG-10) : Must possess least Eighteen (18) months experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operion, and working relionships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of comb, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumic, and other non-mechanical systems th have a functional relionship and effect on the operion of mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumic, electrical, and electronic controls. Basic knowledge of electronics, sufficient to identify and replace defective components, such as sensors, diodes, and circuit boards. Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the approprie security clearance of the position. 2.
