Job Description

Avant Property Management is seeking to fill a part-time Commercial Maintenance position to provide support for commercial office buildings in Shreveport, LA. This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair duties as well as maintaining the appearance of the entries and exits, basement, rooftop, and all floors of a 20-story facility. This candidate will work with the Building Maintenance Engineer and Property Manager to fulfill the roles of the job. We are looking for a candidate that is mechanically inclined, willing to train and learn new skills, be dependable and motivated, and provide excellent customer service to tenants through a professional and friendly demeanor. Other duties include, but are not limited to the following: Perform regular inspections, complete vacant spaces to tenant needs and may help coordinate special projects to accommodate new tenants Test and replace parts and components in plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems Needs working knowledge of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, valves, air-handlers, gauges, motors, thermostats, and locksmithing Identify, recommend, and implement preventative and ongoing changes to preserve or upgrade equipment Evaluate and maintain the facility, meeting operational standards and scheduling tests Maintain fire and safety standards for all areas of the facility Ability to operate all necessary hand tools and climb ladders to make repairs Maintain a clean work area to ensure a safe job site Collectively execute the maintenance program ensuring timely work order service and cost-effective inventory control of property resources Takes initiative to perform needed tasks Other duties assigned by the Building Maintenance Engineer and Property Manager Hours will begin as part time with the possibility of becoming full time.
Requirements:
Reliable transportation A valid driver's license Be willing to complete a criminal background and drug screening Some mechanical/maintenance experience Be able to climb ladders Please provide your resume along with a cover letter and contact information for three professional references.

$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
