Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic CNC Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and related equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. Your expertise will help keep our manufacturing operations running smoothly, safely, and at peak performance levels. CNC Equipment & Preventive Maintenance PM Execution:
Execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance routines on CNC milling machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan) to minimize unscheduled downtime.
Mechanical Care:
Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and replace critical components including spindles, way covers, ball screws, linear guides, tool changers (ATC), coolant delivery systems, and chip conveyors.
Fluid & Filtration Care:
Monitor, test, and manage coolant systems, hydraulic oils, way lubes, and filtration systems; maintain proper fluid levels and mixture ratios.
Alignment & Accuracy:
Conduct tramming, leveling, axis alignment checks, and spindle backlash inspections to maintain machine precision tolerances.
Troubleshooting & Corrective Maintenance Diagnostics:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical failures on CNC machinery and auxiliary shop equipment.
Component Replacement:
Rebuild or replace worn pumps, valves, hoses, seals, bearings, drive belts, and mechanical drives.
Emergency Repairs:
Respond promptly to machine breakdowns during the 2nd shift to keep production schedules on track.
Spare Parts Management:
Track spare parts inventory, log utilized items, and recommend reorder needs to the maintenance manager.
Shift Coordination & Compliance Shift Handover:
Communicate effectively with the 1st shift maintenance crew regarding ongoing repairs, pending tasks, and equipment status.
CMMS Logging:
Accurately document all work orders, parts used, inspection findings, and machine history using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Safety & EHS:
Maintain strict compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, OSHA regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and company safety procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility, with at least 2 years dedicated to CNC milling machine maintenance and repair.
Technical Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree, trade school certification, or apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficient reading mechanical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic drawings, and basic electrical prints. Solid understanding of precision measurement tools (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, gauges). Hands-on experience with hydraulic power units, pneumatic systems, power transmission, and lubrication systems. Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (multimeter usage, sensor replacement, relay checks).
Availability:
Willingness to work 2nd shift, overtime, and occasional weekend hours based on production demands. Preferred Qualifications Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controller diagnostic familiarity. Basic welding, fabrication, and rigging skills. Forklift and aerial lift certification. Journeyman card or state maintenance certification.
