The Utility Worker (Intermediate) is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the construction, maintenance, operation repair, and/or replacement of utility systems. This position requires knowledge of and experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of utility systems, including water, wastewater and storm drain systems. The Utility Worker (Intermediate) is expected to use their knowledge and experience to identify and address potential problems and ensure the efficient operation of the utility systems. Valid CDL Required.Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, and repair utility systems, such as water and wastewater Monitor and adjust system operations to ensure efficient and safe operation. Troubleshoot and diagnose system problems and take appropriate action to address the issues. Perform periodic maintenance and cleaning of utility systems. Provides support for black top, concrete work, and utility repairs Operates light and medium sized construction and power equipment, as well as trucks of varying sizes. Respond to emergency calls and take appropriate action to address the situation. Maintain records of system operations and maintenance activities. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2-3 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of utility systems (water and sewer) Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to utility systems. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system problems. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license. CDL Required MDE Water Distribution 1 or Waste Water Collection 2 License preferred.
