  • 2:00 AM (Monday through Thursday, with occasional weekends) Position Summary The Night Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and installing a wide variety of metal manufacturing fabrication equipment and facility systems.
This position requires a skilled professional with strong electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, quick learner, and reliable team member with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing maintenance experience. Major Areas of Responsibility Equipment Maintenance & Repair Maintain, repair, rebuild, and install various metal manufacturing fabrication machines, including but not limited to: shears, presses, punches, welding power supplies, lasers, tube mills, spinners, and other production equipment Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic failures and execute timely repairs Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on production machinery, vehicles, and forklifts on a regular basis Maintain, inspect, and repair all production machinery, equipment, and vehicles while documenting all work performed Facility & Grounds Maintenance Maintain, repair, rebuild, and install various buildings and related utilities Perform plumbing, welding, electrical, and construction type projects as needed Assist in other areas of the plant when required Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance Maintain, repair, and rebuild forklifts, man-lifts, company vehicles, cranes, and other material handling equipment Documentation & Communication Complete maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner Document all maintenance activities, diagnostic findings, and repairs in SharePoint Maintain a neat and orderly work area, parts supply, and toolbox at all times Keep the department clean and organized on a daily basis Team Collaboration & Training Train any less experienced maintenance personnel Participate in team and shop business problem-solving activities including quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements Identify process bottlenecks and recommend solutions Safety & Compliance Respond to emergency maintenance calls during on and off shift hours Be available during all snow events Abide by the employee handbook and all company policies Insure adherence to company policies and work rules while maintaining a safe work environment Wear PPE when required Position Challenges & Latitude This role requires an individual who can think critically through problems and persist until they are resolved. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes: Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as jobs require Superior service skills and professionalism in day-to-day dealings with coworkers Strong attendance and work ethics, setting a positive example for others Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods A cheerful and positive attitude even in challenging situations Commitment to continually improving quality, safety, 5-S, and productivity within areas of responsibility Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements Required Qualifications Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Advanced understanding of industrial electrical systems (120/277/480 volts), mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory Fabrication skills including welding, grinding, plasma cutting, and torch operation Ability to read and interpret drawing packets including electrical schematics Understanding and proper use of various measuring devices such as micrometers, dial calipers, electrical multi-meters, vibration meters, sound meters, and pressure meters Familiarity with common hand and power tools Basic shop math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, whole numbers, and fractions) High School diploma or GED equivalent Clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Vocational school training or certification Strong preference for candidates with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise Experience with metal manufacturing fabrication equipment Previous experience training or mentoring other maintenance personnel Work Environment & Physical Requirements Work Environment Manufacturing, office, and outdoor environments Exposure to various weather conditions when working outdoors or responding to facility emergencies May be required to work above ground at heights up to 40 feet May be required to work in tanks, below grade, and in confined spaces Physical Requirements Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday Lifting of 50 lbs. or less on a regular basis Good mechanical hand coordination and cognitive abilities Must be able to wear PPE when required Schedule Requirements Standard shift hours are 3:30 PM
  • 2:00 AM, Monday through Friday Some Saturdays and Sundays may be required Overtime as needed until critical equipment is operational Must be available during all snow events Must be available to respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-shift hours Performance Expectations Meet or exceed annual safety, quality, 5-S, and productivity success targets Attend training courses as directed by management Complete all assigned work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner Maintain excellent work attendance Strive to continually improve in all areas of responsibility
