Job Description
Sign fabrication and installation team member Position Summary The Production and Install Team is responsible for the preparation and production of all sign and vehicle graphic production, for both in-shop and on-site installations. This team needs to work independently and together to take jobs from the production queue through to finished, delivered, and closed-out work, ensuring every product meets the design specifications and every customer is kept informed throughout the process. From vinyl prep for vehicles to fabricating architectural signs and installing signage, this team is where the work gets done. Qualifications Hands-on experience in sign production, vinyl application, or a related trade preferred Experience with vehicle graphic installation and large format vinyl application preferred Familiarity with sign fabrication materials including aluminum, acrylic, PVC, and HDU Ability to read and follow design files and job specifications accurately Comfort with heights (ladders, scissor lift, man lift, and scaffolding) required Experience with exterior sign installation including post and panel, wall-mounted, and other common installation types preferred Strong attention to detail and a commitment to clean, professional finished work Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with clients on-site and in-shop Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks Experience with ShopVox or similar job management software an asset Key Responsibilities Vinyl Graphic Production Prepare all vinyl graphics for production including reviewing job files, confirming dimensions and correct materials Cut, weed, and tape vinyl graphics accurately according to design specifications Apply vinyl graphics to substrates, vehicles, windows, walls, or other surfaces with a high standard of alignment, smoothness, and finish Inspect all applied graphics before marking the job ready, checking for bubbles, lifting edges, misalignment, or any defects Handle materials carefully to avoid waste and ensure proper storage of unused stock Architectural & Fabricated Sign Production Fabricate architectural signs according to design files and job specifications, including dimensional letters, panel signs, and other constructed signage Work with materials such as aluminum, acrylic, PVC, HDU, and other substrates used in sign fabrication Follow design specifications precisely for sizing, finish, color, and construction method Coordinate with the Production Lead if any specification is unclear or materials are unavailable before proceeding Installation Preparation Review upcoming installation jobs in advance to confirm all materials, hardware, tools, and equipment are prepared and loaded before departure Contact Digsafe (or the appropriate local utility locate service) when any installation requires ground penetration, and ensure the required waiting period has passed before digging begins Confirm the installation site and access details with the client ahead of the scheduled date Keep the client informed of the installation schedule and notify them promptly of any changes, delays, or site-related issues Ensure all crew members are briefed on the scope, location, and any site-specific requirements before arriving on-site On-Site Installation Install signs, graphics, and other products on-site according to the job specifications and any applicable safety or building requirements Work safely at all times, including when using ladders, lifts, or power tools, and in accordance with relevant site rules Document completed installations with photos and note any site conditions or issues encountered Communicate with the client on-site to confirm satisfaction with the completed installation before leaving Job Closeout & Customer Communication Upon completion of any job, update all relevant tasks in ShopVox to reflect that production or installation is finished For jobs being shipped, ensure product is properly packaged, labelled, and handed off to the shipping process with all required documentation For pickup jobs, ensure the finished product is clearly labelled and staged in the designated pickup area Confirm that the customer has been informed that their job is complete, whether directly or through the design or sales team
Pay:
