Friday Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window, Door, and Cabinet Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of residential and commercial windows, doors, and cabinets with the goal of ensuring quality service and customer satisfaction to preserve our reputation as a service-oriented supplier within the West Michigan building industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Warranty and Repair Work:

Replace parts/glass/slabs/etc./doors and ensure proper seal and alignment. Install replacement window sash and glass. Diagnose and repair issues with existing windows, doors, and cabinets, including hardware and weather stripping. Work with the manufacturer and/or your supervisor to order the proper parts required for service work.

Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of windows, doors, and cabinets within the client's home. Recommend upgrades and improvements to the homeowner/contractor that may enhance functionality and energy efficiency.

Customer Service:

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions. Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner. Discuss any customer costs (parts and/or labor) that may apply to the job prior to starting any service work. Obtain pre-approval authorization prior to beginning any work.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory logs. Create and maintain appointments in the shared service calendar. Provide clients with information on product care and maintenance.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Use protective equipment as required during installations and repairs. Perform all other duties as provided by your supervisor.

Experience:

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency in safely operating a variety of hand and power tools relevant to window, door, and cabinet installation and repair (e.g., drills, saws, levels, caulking guns, measuring tools). Exceptional customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Adaptability to learn new skills and adjust to evolving product lines and installation techniques. Ability to manage time effectively.
