Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Charlevoix to hire a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and facility operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and electrical experience who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and working with their hands. As part of the maintenance team, you'll play an important role in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently while helping prevent downtime and supporting daily production. What You'll Be Doing As a Maintenance Technician, you'll: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and machinery Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment issues Repair and replace worn or malfunctioning machine components Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules Clean, lubricate, adjust, and inspect equipment to maintain proper performance Work with CNC control systems, servo drives, motors, and communication systems Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential problems before they cause downtime Assist with facility maintenance and general upkeep Operate and maintain floor scrubbers and other maintenance equipment Support recycling operations and general facility needs Identify and report unsafe conditions Follow safety procedures and proper equipment practices Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by supervision What We're Looking For Successful candidates will have: Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience Electrical experience preferred Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, manuals, and work instructions High school diploma or GED preferred Preferred Qualifications Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience Electrical troubleshooting or repair experience Experience working with CNC equipment or manufacturing machinery Experience with motors, servo drives, or control systems Experience with hydraulic systems Preventative maintenance experience Forklift experience or certification Why You'll Love This Opportunity Starting pay of $25/hour Four-day workweek Monday-Thursday schedule Three-day weekends Stable, full-time opportunity Hands-on work with a variety of equipment Opportunity to utilize and expand mechanical and electrical skills Team-oriented manufacturing environment Long-term employment potential What to Expect This is a hands-on maintenance position where you'll spend your workday troubleshooting equipment, performing repairs, completing preventative maintenance, and helping keep production and facility operations running safely and efficiently. The position requires frequent standing and walking, occasional kneeling and crouching, and the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to manufacturing equipment and moderate to loud noise levels. The standard schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM , giving you a consistent four-day workweek and three-day weekends.
