Manufacturing Floor Tech Operator About Gokoh Coldwater Incorporated (GCI) Gokoh Coldwater Incorporated (GCI) is a Tier 2 automotive supplier that manufactures sand cores used in the casting of automotive brake rotors. Position Overview GCI is looking for a dependable, hands-on Manufacturing Floor Tech Operator to help keep our production floor running safely and efficiently. This is not a position where you stay at one machine all shift. Floor Tech Operators move throughout the production area based on production needs. This position includes operating and monitoring production machines, completing die/mold changes, checking and changing chemicals, cleaning and 2S, performing basic maintenance, completing daily checks and paperwork, and troubleshooting basic production and equipment issues. We are looking for someone who can learn the job, remember what they have been taught, follow directions, maintain dependable attendance, and complete routine responsibilities without needing repeated reminders. The right person will be mechanically inclined, dependable, willing to get their hands dirty, and able to recognize when something needs attention. What You'll Be Doing Operate and monitor production machines as needed throughout the shift to help maintain production requirements. Monitor production flow, run rates, scrap, quality, and machine conditions. Move between machines and other Floor Tech responsibilities based on daily production needs. Perform die/mold changes using an overhead crane after proper training and authorization. Perform required chemical checks and chemical changeouts using a forklift. Perform routine machine and equipment checks. Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment within your training and authorization. Troubleshoot basic machine, mechanical, and production problems. Make approved machine adjustments and minor repairs as needed to maintain production and quality. Recognize when an equipment problem is beyond the scope of basic Floor Tech maintenance and communicate the issue to Maintenance and/or Team Leader & Management when additional support is needed. Perform regular cleaning and 2S throughout the production floor. Keeping machines, equipment, floors, and work areas clean and organized is a regular part of this position. Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other required production equipment after training and authorization. Follow instructions from Team Leader & Management and complete assigned responsibilities. Adjust to changing production needs and priorities throughout the shift. Follow all GCI safety rules, procedures, work instructions, attendance requirements, and company policies. Daily Checks & Paperwork Daily checks and paperwork are a required part of the Floor Tech Operator position and must be completed accurately and on time each shift.

Responsibilities include:

Complete required daily machine, equipment, chemical, process, and production checks. Complete and/or verify required daily production paperwork and checklists. Review production paperwork throughout the shift for accuracy, completeness, and legibility. Verify production counts, scrap, downtime, activity logs, and other required information are properly documented. Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect information and ensure it is corrected or communicated to Team Leader & Management. Follow required daily and weekly checklists and ensure assigned checks are completed. Accurately document problems, downtime, equipment concerns, and other required production information. Communicate abnormal machine, production, quality, chemical, or safety conditions to Team Leader & Management. Perform routine basic maintenance and troubleshooting without relying on Maintenance for every minor issue. Recognize when a problem requires additional Maintenance support. Stay busy and productive throughout the shift. Recognize when something doesn't look, sound, or operate correctly. Ask questions when unsure instead of guessing. Communicate problems clearly and in a timely manner. Move between different responsibilities as production needs and priorities change. Work well with other Floor Tech Operators, production employees, Maintenance, and Team Leader & Management. Take care of company equipment and tools. Keep work areas clean and organized. Take ownership of assigned work and follow tasks through to completion. Experience & Qualifications Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, especially experience involving production machinery, mechanical work, or industrial equipment. Helpful Experience Fanuc Robotics experience is a plus. Forklift experience is a plus. Overhead crane experience is a plus. Basic mechanical or maintenance experience is a plus. Minor welding experience is a plus. Production equipment troubleshooting experience is a plus. Experience working around automated or high-speed production equipment is helpful. Candidates Must Be able to successfully pass a background check. Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality. Have basic mechanical aptitude. Have good attention to detail and basic problem-solving skills. Be able to follow established procedures, checklists, and directions from Team Leader & Management. Be able to accurately complete and review production paperwork. Have legible handwriting. Be able to work independently and as part of a team. Be willing and able to learn multiple responsibilities throughout the production floor. Be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical production work, including lifting, bending, reaching, walking, and repetitive tasks. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Schedule & Initial Training Regular Night Shift:

6:00 PM - 4:30

AM Shift Length:

10-12 hours Initial Training New Floor Tech Operators will initially train on Day Shift from 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM for approximately 30-60 days. The length of the training period will depend on the employee's training progress, ability to learn and retain procedures, and demonstrated ability to safely and correctly perform the responsibilities of the position independently. Once initial training requirements are successfully completed, the employee will transition to the Night Shift (6:00 PM - 4:30 AM). Applicants must be available to work the Day Shift training schedule before transitioning to Night Shift. Occasional daily and weekly overtime may be required based on production needs. This may include extended shifts and/or additional scheduled workdays.

Compensation & Benefits Pay:

$20.00/hour and up based on experience.
