Overview The Building Technician shall have previous work experience of not less than 10 years in general maintenance, repairs and renovation type construction projects for commercial buildings, including but not limited to skills in electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry trades. The Building Technician shall have the following: valid Michigan Driver's License good driving record as defined by Hegira policy suitable vehicle to perform required tasks tools and equipment to perform the required tasks The Building Technician must have excellent attention to detail, exhibit dependability, and be able to work independently. Duties Technical Complete limited construction/renovation projects as assigned and at the hours required by the location so as to not interfere with business. Assist with the development of a comprehensive program of preventative maintenance for plumbing, lighting, hardware and roof drain, gutter and downspout systems. Estimate costs for labor and/or materials. Painting, either interior or exterior, including all preparation and clean up, typically limited to jobs of a smaller scope. Complete limited plumbing, piping and augering of same as needed. Repair and/or replace door handsets, hinges, locks and closers. Repair, maintain and/or replace toilets; sinks and faucets; shower enclosures, valves and heads; accessories including toilet tissue holders, hand towel dispensers, mirrors, deodorizers, soap dispensers and fans; hot water tanks; garbage disposals; water detection systems; and water filtration and/or dispensing equipment. Repair and/or assemble furniture items as appropriate. Check, test and repair all types of emergency light and exit fixtures. 2 Install, repair, update and maintain outlets, light fixtures and light sensors both interior and exterior. Maintain the personal security devices installed in the restrooms of the Holliday Park Office Plaza. Clean HVAC supply vents and light lens, as assigned. Assist with managing the thermostat programs and supply vents at all buildings. Organize and maintain the items in storage in the garage at the Oakdale Recovery Center, the basement of the Holliday Park Office Plaza, the garage at AMG and the basement at Turning Point. Move furniture as directed by AMG and as suitable between the clinics and storage areas. Facilitate the testing and/or repair of the suppression systems at the Oakdale Recovery Center, the Schoolcraft/Newburgh Building, the Holliday Park Office Plaza and elsewhere as they may be installed. Complete minor repairs to the parking lot surfaces and curbing. Install and maintain the sound attenuating systems. Install and/or maintain interior and exterior signage. Oversee specialized trades (i.e., plumbing, roofing, paving, HVAC, locksmith, flooring, glazing, security, landscaping, moving, etc.) contracted by AMG to work at designated buildings. Promote proactive repairs by reporting to AMG items that need attention. Install, where directed, wall art, notices, clocks, dry erase boards, bulletin boards, etc. with designated security hardware. Pick up and deliver supplies as assigned. Establish a system to clean refrigerator coils as well as adjacent wall and flooring. Install, repair and/or maintain flooring as appropriate. Install and/or repair wallcoverings including tile. Assist with the evaluation of materials or selected vendors. Be familiar with and participate, if requested, in the completion of the monthly clinic Environmental Checklist in order to understand Quality Management (QM) priorities as they relate to building management. Establish and maintain a record of utility shut-offs and similar emergency devices per building including the labeling of each. Assist with recycling building materials and hazardous waste. Maintain the appearance of all buildings by picking up litter and cleaning trash containers. Complete, as needed, any and all cleaning tasks. Report any safety and/or security problems without hesitation or delay to Manager. Complete the monthly report to show the operation of emergency fixtures in each building. Complete all tasks in accordance with local and state building codes. Other tasks and duties as assigned by Manager.

must have ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality is required. Must be able to transport self between clinic locations or within the community as required to perform the position tasks. Will need to move about up to 100% of the work shift, either on clinic properties or in the community. Must be able to move or cause to be moved, up to 20 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
