Pontiac, MIFerrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers,sellersand recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT isawholly-ownedbusiness ofCleveland-Cliffshas an immediate opportunity foraMaintenance TechnicianatthePontiac, MIlocation.

TheMaintenance Technicianis responsible forthe repair and maintenance of machinery and production equipment.
Summary ofResponsibilities:
Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards asidentified, andmaintaincleanliness of the site. Visually inspects andlistensto machines and equipment tolocatemalfunctions. Changes hose assemblies and conveyor belts Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of the drive mechanism or hydraulic system. Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machines and install new pipes Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair Perform cleaning duties related toyard andplant equipment and general housekeeping Inspect, troubleshoot, repair &maintainall plant and yardequipment and machines Torch cutting and welding Other duties as assigned.
MinimumQualifications:
High School Diploma/GEDand must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of one year of experience as a machine repair technician. 2 yeartrade school preferred Experience with mobile equipment repair preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently,self motivatedand self-directed. Good communicationand interpersonal skills Ability tomaintainaccuraterecords Ability tofollow oral and written communication Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects Ability to endure physical and outdoor workon a daily basis. Ability toliftupto 50lbs. Workcooperatively with other employees and the public Must be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extremeclimateand changes in weather.
