Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a premier Northern Michigan hospitality property in Petoskey to hire a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily facility and infrastructure operations. In this role, you'll respond to work orders and service calls, perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot facility issues, and help keep guest rooms, equipment, and building systems operating safely and efficiently. What You'll Be Doing As a Maintenance Technician, you'll: Complete daily work orders and service calls Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the property Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed Keep accurate time and material records for completed repairs Perform pool care and maintenance Conduct boiler room water chemical testing Maintain water softener systems Assist with air conditioning and heating system changeovers Perform guest room maintenance and repairs Repair and maintain food service equipment Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment Assist with snow removal as needed Maintain facility infrastructure and building systems Inspect and maintain water systems Identify maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions Work with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete responsibilities Follow safety procedures and proper maintenance practices Complete additional maintenance duties as assigned What We're Looking For Successful candidates will have: Working knowledge of general maintenance Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to prioritize and organize workload Cost-conscious approach to maintenance and repairs Strong attention to accuracy and detail Safety-focused mindset Ability to work independently while contributing to a team Reliable attendance and punctuality Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Previous hotel, commercial, hospitality, or facility maintenance experience CPO certification HVAC certification Electrical experience or certification Experience with plumbing and carpentry Experience with preventative maintenance programs Experience maintaining mechanical or building systems Certifications are preferred but not required. You'll respond to work orders and service calls while helping maintain guest rooms, building infrastructure, mechanical systems, pools, water systems, food service equipment, and other facility systems. The maintenance department works as a team, with responsibilities assigned based on daily priorities and operational needs. You'll need to be comfortable shifting between different types of maintenance tasks and responding to issues as they arise. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, safety-minded, organized, and comfortable solving problems. You'll need to prioritize your workload, communicate effectively with team members, and complete work accurately and efficiently.
