Welcome to Elysian! We are an Assisted Living with Dementia Care that provides care for up to 70 residents. We are looking for a maintenance technician to provide daily maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.

hours per week guaranteed; Monday through Friday $23-$25/hr. based on experience + On Call Weekend for Maintenance Emergencies This position is also supported by Elysian's Corporate Building & Grounds Director.

In this energetic role, you will support a wide range of maintenance tasks across residential and commercial properties, helping to maintain the integrity of building systems and interior spaces. Your proactive approach and technical skills will contribute to creating a comfortable environment for residents, tenants, and visitors alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in facilities maintenance while making a tangible impact every day. Painting is a primary task for this position and is required! Maintenance technicians are regularly tasked with painting resident rooms and common spaces as often as is necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) One to three years' prior housekeeping, custodial and/or maintenance experience. Valid MN Driver's license. Ability to meet physical requirements of position as determined by a pre-employment physical performed by Elysian Senior Homes designated medical provider. This position requires applicant to have: Knowledge of safe cleaning chemicals that are non-allergenic. Knowledge of safe equipment use, ability to use equipment and basic machinery. Ability to understand and relate well to senior adults. Must be flexible and able to work within a diverse team.

Perform maintenance tasks.
Tasks:
PAINTING
is a primary task that is required for this position. This will include painting resident rooms and common spaces. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or as directed by supervisor. Report mechanical problems or irregularities to supervisor. Report equipment failures that cannot be repaired and recommendation for replacement. Perform miscellaneous light repairs, e.g. plunging toilets, change light bulbs. Make preventative maintenance inspections per schedule or as directed by supervisor. Complete necessary work for unit turnovers, e.g. patching and painting, move appliances, replace or repair locks, window screens, cleaning etc. Shampoo carpets as needed. Set up community rooms and common areas for tenant programs and activities as needed. Perform all repair and maintenance work to comply with code standards. Clean the garage, e.g. sweep and remove debris, Keep trash/recycling areas clean and safe. Shovel walkways and paths as needed. Perform occasional ground maintenance. Provide supervisor with ongoing communication, documentation and reporting of mechanical/building problems. Maintain the maintenance shop and mechanical rooms in a clean, safe, orderly and professional manner. Check stock and recommend or order parts and supplies when needed. Verify receipt of merchandise.

Tasks:
Attend and participate in all staff meetings and keep information confidential as appropriate. Maintain a team approach toward all staff and be a strong team member as part of the maintenance staff. Assist management/office staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed. Perform and assist in other assignments as needed and directed by the Building and Grounds Director or the Administrator.

Heavy Work Lifting 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
