District Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift Richfield Public Schools 7001 Harriet Ave (Show on map) Sep 08, 2026 The Richfield Public School District is now accepting applications for a full-time Districtwide Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift. This position includes troubleshooting, maintain, repair and regularly monitor the District's mechanical systems to ensure that required levels of safety, readiness and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved and sustained. This position will perform a considerable variety of maintenance and repair responsibilities for school facilities, grounds and mechanical systems as scheduled or required to help ensure a safe, presentable, comfortable, and functional environment for students, staff and visitors. We are located in the heart of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area and serve a diverse student population in Richfield and the surrounding communities. Requirements:

High School or GED equivalent and at least two years' experience in the proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, security, fire protection and other physical plant systems or successful completion of a formal post-secondary training program.

Demonstrate and considerable working knowledge of HVAC systems, steamtraps, thermostats, univents, pneumatic operators, plumbing, basic electrical maintenance / repair and pool equipment operations.

Current Chief Class C or 1-C Boiler License and the ability to maintain this licensure.

State of Minnesota Pool Certification or the ability to secure this certification within sixty days of hire.

Salary:

$26.95-$31.98 (Based on education and experience). Richfield Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefit package. Click here to see contract and benefit information. Please note, the current rate is for the 2025-26 and contract is currently under negotiation for the 2026-27 school year.
