Shop & Facility Support Technician Position Summary The Shop & Facility Support Technician provides general support to the service department, dealership facility, and daily operations. This position assists technicians and service staff with shop-related tasks, maintains the cleanliness and condition of the facility and grounds, and serves as a backup driver for vehicle, equipment, parts, and material transportation as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, hands-on, safety-conscious, and willing to assist wherever needed to keep the dealership and service operation running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Shop Support Assist technicians with general shop duties and material handling. Move, organize, and stage equipment, parts, tools, and supplies. Keep shop areas clean, organized, and safe. Assist with washing, fueling, greasing, and basic preparation of equipment and vehicles. Perform basic tasks as directed by service management or technicians. Help load and unload equipment, parts, and materials. Maintain shop supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished. Assist with moving equipment and vehicles around the dealership and service yard. Facility & Building Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of dealership buildings, shop areas, offices, and grounds. Complete basic repairs and maintenance such as changing lights, minor plumbing repairs, painting, patching, and general upkeep. Maintain parking areas, driveways, storage areas, and exterior grounds. Does snow removal, lawn care, seasonal maintenance, and other outdoor tasks. Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance issues that require outside contractors or specialized service. Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance throughout the dealership. Assist with facility improvement and maintenance projects as assigned. Backup Driver / Transportation Support Serve as a backup driver for dealership vehicles, service vehicles, parts runs, deliveries, and pickups. Transport equipment, parts, materials, and vehicles between dealership locations, customers, vendors, and job sites as needed. Assist with customer equipment pickups and deliveries when required. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle while operating company vehicles. Follow all company driving, safety, and vehicle-use policies. Qualifications Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Class A is a bonus. Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. General knowledge of building and facility maintenance. Ability to use common hand tools and basic maintenance equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Strong attention to safety and cleanliness. Good communication and teamwork skills. Previous experience in a dealership, service shop, construction, maintenance, equipment, or similar environment is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various shop and outdoor conditions. Ability to lift and move materials and equipment within the requirements of the position. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate vehicles, shop equipment, and maintenance tools.
