Job Summary:

Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. Cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Basic experience with building repairs as well as mowing and maintaining mowing equipment. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. 2. Cuts and maintains lawns and grass. Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. 3. Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems. 4. Assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility. Works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs. 5. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Responsible for snow and dirt removal. 6. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition. 7. Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. General Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Skills:

Basic mechanical aptitude and skills. Using and maintenance of lawn equipment and of building maintenance. Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.

Knowledge:

Must have familiarity with area assigned, such as exposure to procedures relevant to the position, or industry related knowledge.

Experience:

Basic experience with building repairs as well as mowing and maintaining mowing equipment.

Scope of Responsibility:

Follows established procedures and policies, but may use some discretion in identifying, researching, and resolving problems. May prioritize tasks and time, with direction of supervisor. Errors have some impact on organizations financial performance.

Has frequent internal or external contact, generally to respond to questions or obtain information of a routine nature.
