Description:

Maintenance Technician Pay Rate - $31/hr.+ Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports a high-volume distribution center by performing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on forklifts, conveyors, and a variety of material handling equipment. This role ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently while strictly following all maintenance-related safety protocols and regulations. Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on forklifts, conveyors, and other material handling equipment within the distribution center. Carry out reactive maintenance tasks to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime. Execute preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules to extend equipment life and improve reliability. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks. Perform mechanical repairs, including work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, to restore equipment to proper working condition. Conduct electrical repairs and electrical troubleshooting on equipment components and control systems. Inspect conveyor systems regularly and perform conveyor maintenance to ensure consistent and safe operation. Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations related to maintenance activities and equipment operation. Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment issues or recurring problems to the appropriate parties. Collaborate with other technicians to share knowledge, coordinate tasks, and support overall maintenance team goals. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience performing mechanical troubleshooting on industrial or material handling equipment. Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting and electrical repairs in an industrial or distribution environment. Knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems. Knowledge of pneumatics and the ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic systems. Experience performing preventive maintenance on forklifts, conveyors, or similar material handling equipment. Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. Familiarity with conveyor maintenance, including inspection, adjustment, and repair of conveyor components. Strong commitment to following safety protocols and regulations in all maintenance activities. Ability to diagnose issues quickly, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any education related to the maintenance industry is considered a bonus. Certifications related to maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or industrial equipment are a plus. Experience working in a distribution center or warehouse environment is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other technicians and operational staff. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a variety of maintenance tasks as needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.10 - $36.65/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
